FRESNO The search for a hunter missing in the Sierra Nevada has expanded to cover 100 square miles and include 70 people.
A spokesman says the Fresno County Sheriffs Office also has asked for help from the state Office of Emergency Services at it scours a snowy wilderness for 38-year-old Robert Willis of Caruthers.
Willis had planned to go to the Halls Meadow area of Dinky Creek, a wilderness surrounded by 10,000-foot peaks. Authorities say Willis, an experienced hunter, left Oct. 30 and was supposed to return Saturday to watch his son play football.
Two helicopters, one plane, horses and dogs are involved in the search, which was expanded Friday from an area 10-square-miles around where Willis disappeared.
