Members of the Grass Valley Elks will supply 4,000 healthy snacks to children in Nevada County schools through a new project called H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat).
The project will be funded by a $7,500 Impact Grant awarded by the Elks National Foundation.
This year, the Grass Valley lodge is one of 46 recipients nationwide to receive a grant from the national foundation. Grants typically range between $3,000 and $10,000.
