Print Comment
Yuba County supervisor Dan Logue rolled to an easy victory in the 3rd Assembly District race, outpolling Democratic challenger Mickey Harrington by capturing nearly 58 percent of the vote.

Logue will get the chance to represent an area of California that stretches from north of Sacramento hundreds of miles nearly to the Oregon border.

"I'm very honored," said Logue, who beat Horne in the primaries as the Republican candidate. "I'm grateful to the people of Nevada County and I want to make sure they are well-represented in this district."

Logue, a real-estate agent, said during the campaign that he would work to increase opportunities for small businesses and would create a small business and jobs caucus to help the area’s struggling economy.

Harrington, a former Pacific Gas and Electric employee and union executive, campaigned on the need to increase opportunities for vocational education for students and bringing small manufacturing plants to the area to boost the economy.

Logue said he would also work to create regional wastewater treatment plants to help smaller communities cope wit h the cost of upkeep of such facilities.

With 52 percent of precincts reporting, Logue has 58 percent of the votes, compared with 42 percent for Harrington.
