I'm just guessing, but I'm assuming the right-wing supporters of the California Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment (Proposition 8) are anti-gay. I know for sure these folks are bad at math.
No one disputes that being gay is almost entirely, if not entirely, biological (i.e. genetic). And almost everyone knows a male gay person (there's probably one in your family) who married a female because they culturally had to. So they had a couple of kids, who had a higher probability of being gay, and at least passed on the recessive gay gene.
So, if you don't want gays propagating further, and you are good at math, vote "no" on the California Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment. Vote "no" on Proposition 8 - it's just bad math.
