n Nevada County Travel Club

You are invited to join Nevada County Travel Club on our monthly tours. Call Brenda for tour information at 432-5362.

Nov. 21: Texas evening in California. Roundtrip coach, Texas barbecue dinner, opening night of Tuna Christmas at the oldest opera house in California. Light-hearted play follows the holiday planning of small Texas community.

Dec. 3 - 8: San Antonio Holiday. Our package includes roundtrip shuttles, night prior near SMF airport, roundtrip air, and then four colorful, musical days and nights on the famed River Walk experiencing San Antonio and Texas Hill Country towns of Fredericksburg, Lukenbach and Bandera. Learn to cook and enjoy Tex Mex. San Antonio Land Tour by Collette Vacations.

Jan. 3: Jump start your New Year with us in Sacramento's Theatre District at the new Paragary's Cosmo Cafe for lunch and the Cosmo Cabaret for a performance of Forever Plaid. Escape the post holiday doldrums with us on this tour of 50's quartet music and humor: Nothing but "Magic Moments" with Nevada County Travel Club!

Feb. 3-13: Cruise the Sea of Cortez. Sail from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Topolabampo, Loreto, LaPaz, Cabo San Lucas. Sail, see, snorkel Mexico's natural aquarium. All inclusive air, shuttles, insurance, 10 day cruise.

March 10-12: Reno Fun Train. Two nights at Harrah's East, Grass Valley shuttle to depot, dinner and evening entertainment.

May 14-15: Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee. Murphy's, Angel Camp and Columbia tours, overnight in historical hotel, all meals and rental frog!

June 19-16: Collette Vacation's Islands of New England. Be an easterner for eight days in the most popular summer resorts: Providence, Newport, Boston, Plymouth Rock and Plimoth Plantation, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and Hyannis. Lobster feast and Cape Cod Central Train Dinner. RT Air with night prior near SMF included.

Yes! we have space on a Passion Play tour for June 25-July 5, 2010! Our Collette tour begins in Paris, visits Strasbourg and Bavaria then ends in Oberammergau for the Passion Play.

Nov. 7, Dec. 12: Trips to Reno Club Cal-Neva.

We're a fun group. Trips are always on Friday, once a month.

Please note that we have new dates for the October and November potlucks: October has changed to the 20th and November has changed to the 17th. Be sure to mark your calendars. The meetings will be at the Vet's Building.

Oct. 20: Potluck at Vet's Building. A-H brings hot dish, I-P brings salad/veggie, R-Z brings dessert. Remember to bring your own table service, meeting starts at noon, food served at 12:30 p.m. Many new sign up sheets today.

Oct. 31: Pizza Meeting at Mountain Mikes, 11:30 a.m.

Jan. 7: Buck Institute for Age Research. The Buck Institute, designed by world famous architect I.M. Pei, is a privately owned and operated research facility devoted to understanding and finding cures for age related diseases. We will tour the labs and get latest information about Alzheimer's, cancer, stroke, and explore the biological mysteries of aging. After a no host lunch in Novato, we will tour the Marin County Civic Center, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Feb. 6: Feather Falls Casino, cash back and food discount coupon.

Feb. 15-16: Snow Train to Reno. Bus to Sacramento, Amtrak to Reno, overnight at Peppermill, return home by bus.

Feb. 24: Sierra Nevada Brewery tour and lunch. Migratory Birds and Spring Blossom tour of the Chico area.

March 6: Jackson Rancheria.

March 11: California Academy of Sciences, the newly opened museum in Golden Gate Park.

May 24: An Evening With Groucho. Matinee performance at the beautiful Gallo Theater in Modesto. Lunch at Applebee's before the show included. Fast-paced portrayal of Groucho Marx in 90 minutes of hilarity starring Frank Ferrante.

June 25: Lion King in Sacramento at the Community Theater.

n 49'er Travel Club

Oct. 25: Cruising the Petaluma River. Free time in Old Town Petaluma, three hour cruise aboard the Delphinus with historian. Wait list.

Nov. 2: Travel Club Meeting. 2 p.m., Forest Springs Mobilehome Park Clubhouse.

Nov. 30-Dec. 1: Holiday Ice Spectacular at the El Dorado. Includes cocktail party, breakfast and dinner buffets. Deadline Oct. 20. Only six spaces left.

Jan. 8, 2009: Silver Legacy Reno. Grass Valley Moose Fund Raiser. Receive $10 cash, $5 food credit. Driver gratuity included.

Aug. 29, 2009: River Cats Baseball.
