Jack W. Foster died Oct. 3 in Redding of complications following heart surgery.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 12, at Caldwell Park in the barbecue area. He will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo at a later date.
Mr. Foster was born March 30, 1929, in Sacramento. He was retired but worked in construction for many years. After moving to Redding, he worked for Home Base and Embassy Suites. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. He loved old Westerns, NASCAR, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Foster is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cheryl. He was a loving father to his children Wesley, Leeanne, Bryan, Ron, Ken, Robert and Karen; and is also survived by 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Virginia and brother, Charles.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to your local Humane Society.
