Carmen Ann LeDuc Jones died Sept. 24 in Grass Valley. She was 70.

Carmen was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Grass Valley to Lois McCabe and Louis LeDuc. She graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1956. She worked at Nevada Union High School for 17 years and retired in 2003 from J.C. Penney after 15 years. She was secretary for the homeowner's association where she lived. She loved gardening, reading, playing Yahtze, cooking, and fishing.

Grass Valley was always Carmen's home - she loved it here. Her quick wit and loving heart touched all that knew her and all of our lives are better because of it.

Carmen is survived by her son, Rob Jones of Nevada City; daughter, Angie and son-in-law, Billy Jones of Redondo Beach; grandsons Rick Amick of Brookings, Ore., and Nik Jones of Nevada City; brother, Lou and Beverly LeDuc; sister, Gerda Watson, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
