RSVP: Sept. 23, 2008

Adults 55 and older are invited to share their time and talents with Nevada County nonprofits, public agencies and schools. Accident, liability and excess auto insurance are provided, and mileage reimbursement is available, for people older than 55. If you are interested in any of the following positions, call RSVP at 271-0255 weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or visit our office at 471 Sutton Way, Suite No. 202, in Grass Valley.



Telethon Volunteers

The upcoming local community telethon is looking for volunteers to assist with a wide variety of activities Saturday, Nov. 1. Volunteers are needed to man the phone bank, assist in production, help with food preparation and help with the set-up and break down of the event.



Donations Coordinator

Communicate with individuals and businesses who wish to make donations, arrange for pick-up, and transportation of items to storage.



Information Booth

Assist at community events handing out brochures and answering questions.



Volunteer Coordinator

A volunteer coordinator is needed to organize other volunteers working on three to four events during the year. This activity can be done from home, over the phone or by e-mail.



Book Department Manager

A book lover is needed to sort and stack books in the appropriate categories. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity with your choice of days and times.



Cashier

A friendly outgoing volunteer is needed to greet customers, answer questions and operate a cash register mornings or afternoon shifts.



Clerical

Help is needed with light clerical, filing, and mailings for two to four hours once a week.



Docents

Assist visitors with gold panning instructions and general tourist information on Saturdays or Sundays. Times are flexible and this is an August through November opportunity.
