Instead of suing the policeman, the city, and the hospital, Kurt Peterson of San Jose ought to have his head examined for riding with an intoxicated driver.

The Union’s front page story on Monday, Sept. 8 underscores, once again, the extent to which some people will go in an effort to blame others for their own bad choices. It also emphasizes the unfortunate overabundance of ambulance-chasing lawyers willing to help people like Peterson use frivolous lawsuits in an effort to get something for nothing.

No wonder our courts are so overburdened.
