A tour of area export manufacturing companies will give visitors an insight into the economic backbone of Nevada County.
The tour will include visits to Thomson Grass Valley Group, Furniture by Thurston, Hills Flat Lumber Co. and a view of opportunities and challenges for future growth as seen from the top of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
It's sponsored by the Nevada County Economic Resource Council and is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 25. The $65 tour includes breakfast at Loma Rica Organic Farm, a gourmet lunch, wine tasting and bus transportation to the four companies in the Grass Valley area. At the end of the tour will be a time for questions, socializing and dessert.
