Caltrans announced the following road work for the week through Sept. 6.
Most work interfering with traffic will be limited today due to the Labor Day holiday.
n Highway 20: Work has been completed on this $36.3 million project to upgrade the roadway to current safety standards. Improvements include standard eight-foot shoulders, left-turn access at various locations, improved drainage, eastbound passing and truck-climbing lanes, construction of two bridges and realigning the highway in two locations between Mooney Flat Road and Melody Road.
-- I-80 from the Donner Summit to west of the Soda Springs exit: Westbound traffic detoured and crossed onto the eastbound lanes of the freeway 24 hours a day. East and westbound traffic will be separated by a concrete barrier. The detour is necessary for the demolition and replacement of the Castle Peak Bridge and will remain in place throughout the 2008 construction season.
-- I-80 between Donner Summit and Soda Springs: East and westbound lane and ramp closures from midnight Tuesday through Sunday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.
-- I-80 from Placer County to the Donner Lake undercrossing: West and eastbound lanes closed from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
-- I-80 from the Donner Lake undercrossing to Donner Pass Road: Lane closures from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.
-- I-80 from the Donner Lake undercrossing to Placer County undercrossing: East and westbound lane closures from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.
-- Highway 20 from the Yuba county line to I-80: One-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
-- Highway 49 from Placer County to Marysville Road: One-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
-- Highway 49 from Sidehill Viaduct to Star Lumber: North and southbound No. 1 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to install guardrail.
-- Highway 174 from Placer County to Highway 20: One-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew will be doing miscellaneous maintenance work.
