Caltrans announces I-80 work

Caltrans has announced the following road work through Friday:

n Interstate 80 from the Donner Summit to just west of the Soda Springs exit: Westbound traffic detoured and crossed over onto the eastbound lanes of the freeway 24 hours a day. East and westbound traffic will be separated by a concrete barrier. The detour is necessary for the demolition and replacement of the Castle Peak Bridge and will remain in place throughout the 2008 construction season.

n I-80 between the Donner Summit and Soda Springs: Various east and westbound lane and ramp closures. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.

n I-80 from the Placer County line to the Donner Lake undercrossing: Various west and eastbound lanes closed from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

n I-80 (Nevada County) from the Donner Lake undercrossing to Donner Pass Road: Various lane closures from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.

n Highway 49 from the Placer county line to Marysville Road: One-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

n Highway 49 from Sidehill Viaduct to Star Lumber: North and southbound No. 1 lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work.

n I-80 from the Donner Lake undercrossing to Trout Creek: No. 2 westbound lane closed through 6 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding and paving.

n I-80 from Floriston to Farad: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane restrictions through noon Thursday. A contractor is scheduled for miscellaneous construction work.

n Highway 174 from the Placer County line to Highway 20: East and westbound No. 1 lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Thursday. A Caltrans crew will be doing miscellaneous maintenance work.

n Highway 174 from Rattlesnake Road to Sunrise Lane: East and westbound right shoulder restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday. A Caltrans crew will be doing miscellaneous maintenance work.
