Police blotter: July 22, 2008

Grass Valley Police Department



Sunday

3:47 p.m. - Officers were advised of a possible drunken driver in the Hills Flat area.

5:18 p.m. - A caller from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital reported a man with a broken hand had come into the emergency room who was possibly involved in a downtown assault. Responding officers took a report.

7:06 p.m. - A caller said a man was beating a vehicle with a stick in a downtown parking lot. Arriving officers arrested a youth on suspicion of vandalism and took him to juvenile hall.

9:20 p.m. - About 20 teens were told to take their loud party inside and quiet down on the 100 block of Empire Street.

11:22 p.m. - An officer spoke with a caller on the 200 block of Sutton Way who wanted to discuss issues with her son.

11:25 p.m. - A possible drunken driver was reported on East Empire Street. Officers were unable to locate him.

Monday

1:30 a.m. - A caller said two extremely drunk women came out of a downtown bar, got into a van and drove away. The information was dispatched to local law enforcement agencies but the women were not found.

5:56 a.m. - A caller from the 100 block of Alta Street reported her house had been toilet-papered, egged and tomatoed.

10:30 a.m. - A caller from the 300 block of Second Street reported the theft of golf clubs and a watch from the bed of their pickup truck.

10:51 a.m. - A man reported losing a wallet downtown on Neal Street.

11:09 a.m. - A caller from Portland, Ore., said she hadn't seen her son in two years and reported him missing. Officers were given an address for the son and will follow up.

Sunday

12:28 p.m. - A caller from the 13000 block of Maroon Place reported that a mailbox

had been vandalized.

1:54 p.m. - A caller from the 15000 block of Little Valley Road reported that a juvenile was involved in an altercation with his mother and that she'd been assaulting him all day.

2:00 p.m. - A caller from the 10000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported a verbal dispute with a neighbor over dogs.

3:09 p.m. - A caller from the 10000 block of Spenceville Road reported several juveniles skateboarding at a school and acting belligerently toward the school staff.

3:55 p.m. - A caller from a business on the 11000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported a 12-year-old girl in the store saying she ran away from home after her mother assaulted her.

4:54 p.m. - A woman from the 23000 block of Acacia Court reported that some juveniles had stolen a golf cart from her driveway about a month and a half ago. At that time, she didn't want to file charges and tried to handle the matter personally. But she said she was calling the police because the juveniles weren't following the agreement she had with them.

5:29 p.m. - A caller from the 16000 block of Stone Meadow Lane reported their juvenile daughter ran away from home. The caller said the runaway was wearing brown shorts and a tan shirt and could be aggressive if contacted by officers.

6:26 p.m. - A woman from the 17000 block of Oak Hollow Circle reported that her 14-year-old son was under the influence of drugs. She said she wanted officers to cite her son.

6:30 p.m. - A caller from the 14000 block of Sun Forest Drive reported a verbal argument with his wife that was becoming physical. A woman was heard yelling in the background.

8:30 p.m. - A woman from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported having a verbal argument with a man who cornered her and asked him for drugs.

10:07 p.m. - A woman called from the 13000 block of Summit Ridge Drive reported receiving annoying phone calls from a man who was asking her strange questions about her being alone.



Monday

1:43 a.m. - A man from the 15000 block of Monte Vista Drive reported a bear getting into the trash. He was referred to the California Department of Fish and Game. He, however, called back repeatedly, demanded contact with officers and turned hostile.

2:37 a.m. - A woman called from the 11000 block of Streeter Road saying she found two men in her closet. She said she didn't know who they were and said they left in an unknown vehicle.

3:46 p.m. - A woman from the 200 block of Gethsemane Street reported the theft of a suitcase from her front porch.
