Walker set for Demo convention

Barack Obama delegate Curtis Walker has received a check for $1,084 from the Nevada County Democratic Central Committee for expenses at the Aug. 25 to Aug. 28 National Democratic Convention in Denver, Colo.

The disabled Vietnam veteran led the Nevada County for Obama Team with his wife, Sherri Walker, and their candidate carried the county in the February Presidential Primary.

The county’s Democratic Central Committee has recently opened a year-round headquarters in the office building across from the Fowler Center shopping center in Grass Valley at Suite 105, 2059 Nevada City Highway.

Buttons and bumper stickers for various campaigns including Obama, Congressional candidate Charlie Brown and Assembly candidate Mickey Harrington are available.

The office is now open seven days a week, Monday, Tuesday , Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information call, the office at 477-1804.
