Re: 'Final nail to universal health care'

Print Comment
Obviously the writer of the letter "Final nail to universal health care" (The Union, June 25) places no faith in the concept "If there's the will, there's a way."

As well, his is a particularly tenuous position considering there are solid indications that the "patient" is indeed alive and thriving (no thanks to the for-profit health insurers).

A letter limit of 200 words makes it impossible to enumerate all the positive prognoses for the patient, so I simply will encourage your gentle (or skeptical!) readers to research these few sites of the more than 30 groups working to bring genuine health insurance reform, in the form of single payer, to California: California Physicians Alliance, California Nurses Association, California Federation of Teachers, California Alliance for Retired Americans, Healthcare for All-California, League of Women Voters of California (search "single payer," click SB840 Q&A) and Physicians for a National Health Program.

Thanks and good health!
