Carly Dallago and Clint Piper have a dream: They want to be together long enough to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in 2058.
The young pair are getting married at Calvary Bible Church in Grass Valley in September this year. Both are graduates of Nevada Union High School.
"We are best friends," Dallago said. "We get along great. We don't take things too seriously. And we just have a lot of fun spending time together."
Dallago, 24, and Piper, 25, have known each other since their junior high school years while attending Calvary Bible Church, Dallago said. They also had mutual friends at NU, she said. But the two started dating for the first time last fall - after Piper returned from a six-year stint at the Navy.
The two bumped into each other at Safeway one day, exchanged phone numbers and "hit it off immediately," Dallago said.

"He's a very honorable man, very giving," Dallago said. "He puts others first all the time. I knew he was a great guy, but didn't know how deep it went."
Piper is equally moonstruck.
"I love how funny she is and how she is always outgoing and spontaneous," he said. "She is beautiful and is a great best friend."
Dallago is a dispatcher with the Grass Valley Police Department, while Piper is an assistant technician at SMA America, a solar company in Rocklin, Dallago said.
When the two have some free time "we like to get out as much as possible," Dallago said. "In the evenings, we watch our favorite movies and TV shows."
The couple are expecting about 250 guests at the wedding, Dallago said. They plan to have their honeymoon in Lake Tahoe, she said.

The bride is the daughter of Tory Diana Dallago, of Grass Valley. She graduated from Whitworth University, in Spokane, Wash., with a bachelor's degree in Spanish.
The groom is the son of Mike and Kathy Piper, also of Grass Valley. He served in the United States Navy from 2001 to 2007.
The couple plans to wed on Sept. 27.
