Alan Kilborn, Ed Scofield and Bob Joehnck are running for the District 2 Supervisor race June 3 to replace Sue Horne, who is vying for the state assembly.

If one of them wins 50 percent of the votes, plus one, they will win outright, according to Susan German, assistant clerk-recorder for Nevada County.

If no one earns a plurality, the top two vote-getters will run off in November. Write-in candidates could file for the later race as well, German said.

Here are profiles of each candidate and how they stand on a number of issues raised by voters at a recent candidates forum held at the Higgins Lions Community Center in the south county district. The questions ranged from the county's most pressing issues, to Highway 49, senior services, air pollution and how the south county should develop.
