Miners honored by SFL

Print Comment
Several Nevada Union volleyball players were honored Tuesday by being named to the all-Sierra Foothill League team and to the senior optimist match, which gathers the league's top seniors to play one final time.

Tyler Salcedo, the Miners' setter, was named the league Most Valuable Player and to the first team. He was joined by Justin Carroll, Austin Schumacher and Stu Chapman.

Nick Cancilla was named to the second team.

Cancilla, along with Chapman, Schumacher and Alex Bernadette were named to the boys optimist game while Christian Woodruff, Sarah McAtee and Kylie Miraldi were named to the girls optimist game. Both games will be played Tuesday at El Camino High school.
