Great dance party to benefit WOW

Print Comment
Jimmi Accardi & the Wildcats plan rock out at Miners Foundry in Nevada City on Friday to benefit Women of Worth (WOW).

A backup guitarist for such early hitmakers as The Classics, The Belmonts and the Regents, Accardi later toured as a guitarist for Chubby Checker, Rupert Holmes and Harry Nilsson. His latest releases-"Keep on Rockin'" and "Rock and Roll Party" - feature rock, jumpblues and rockabilly.

The evening, from 6:30 to 11:30, will include elegant hors d'oeuvres, door prizes, beer and wine and more than 70 silent auction items, including a beach house at Sea Ranch, crab or lobster dinner, art, jewelry and wine and cheese gift baskets.

Tickets for $20 are available in advance at the Nevada City Postal Company in Nevada City; The Bookseller in Grass Valley; Larry & Lena's Pizza in Penn Valley; The Real Graphic Source Lakeshore at the corner of Wolf Rd. & Hwy 49; $24 at the door if available. Call 878-1183 or 268-1131 for more information.

WOW exists to assist families in crisis, especially those escaping domestic violence and sexual assault by increasing self-reliance, improving quality of life and assisting survivors in rebuilding their lives.
