Many classics will be performed Sunday, as Orchestre Panache and the Sierra College Nevada County Campus Chorale join forces under the banner of Twin Cities Concert Association.

Orchestre Panache, featuring the Sierra College Nevada County Campus Chorale, performs "a wonderful variety of orchestral styles with works that everyone will know and love, as well as some gorgeous lesser known gems," says Ken Hardin, artistic director of Twin Cities ConcertAssociation.
"How could you go wrong with Mendelssohn, Haydn, Grieg, Bach, Fauré, and Mozart."
"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by J.S. Bach, "Benedictus Sit Deus" by Mozart, and "Pavanne" by Gabrielle Fauré are three works with both choir and orchestra.
"The Fauré will be performed with choral parts which is almost never done," says Hardin.
He explained that the Fauré is one of his favorite pieces on the program "because of the lush sweeping melodies.
"I love the way the choir weaves in and out of the orchestral lines.
It's just beautiful. Both the Fauré and Bach are familiar melodies which everyone will find themselves humming along to, I'm sure."
Other works include Mendelssohn's "Overture to a Midsummer Night's Dream," "Haydn Symphony No. 85," and Grieg's "Holberg Suite."
The 13-year-old Orchestre Panache is composed mostly of local residents and those from Auburn and outlying areas.
The 40 singer chorale is a smaller version of Hardin's Sierra College Choir of 90 voices.
A reception of cake and beverage follows this, the last concert of the season.
