Joseph Shattack
Joseph William Shattuck died May 10 in Rocklin. He was 19.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City. Pastor John Stroeh will officiate.
Mr. Shattuck was born July 2, 1988, in Grass Valley to John Shattuck and Ricki (Rose) Heck. He was a graduate of Union Hill Elementary - Middle School and Sierra Mountain High School.
Mr. Shattuck worked as an ornamental iron worker and welder. He was a member of the Vocational Industrial Curriculum Association (VICA) Skills USA California regional gold medal in (SMAW) welding.
He enjoyed disc golf, fishing, auto repair, ornamental art, pets, dogs, cats, and fish.
Mr. Shattuck is survived by his mother, Ricki (Rose) Heck, of Grass Valley; father, John Shattuck, of Olympia, Wash.; stepfather, William Heck, of Grass Valley; stepmother, Debra Delzell of Olympia, Wash.; sister, Annie Shattuck, of Berkeley; siblings Sarah Heck, of San Diego, Molly Heck, of Auburn, Emma Heck, of San Diego, and Neal and Lindsay Buzzo, of Seattle, Wash.; grandparents Charlyne Shattuck, of Roseville, Stan and Jean Rose, of Roseville, and Charlotte Shafer, of Montgomery, Texas; uncle and aunt, Charley and Dee Shattuck, of Roseville; aunt, Kathy Hamburg, of Folsom; and cousins Alex, Bryan and Abby Hamburg, of Folsom, Tom Shattuck, of Roseville, Pete Carpenter, of Portland, Ore., and Mandy Porter, of Rocklin.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lyle Shattuck, in 2005.
