Robert Valley Jr.

Robert J. Valley Jr. died May 13 in Grass Valley. He was 61.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 16, at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.

Mr. Valley Jr. was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Sacramento to Robert J. Valley and Bunny E. Hadler. He graduated from Mira Loma High School in 1965 and attended San Francisco State University. He served in Civilian Service. He married Sharon Janette Jones on Dec. 31, 1977, in Grass Valley.

Mr. Valley Jr. was a poet and Universal Life Church minister. He enjoyed reading, running, swimming, spending time with family, and writing.

Mr. Valley Jr. is survived by his parents, Robert and Bunny Valley of Sacramento; wife, Sharon J. Valley of Grass Valley; daughter, Roxane Norton of Grass Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Darby and Colleen Valley of Missouri and Jason and Kelly Valley of Cottage Grove, Ore.; brothers Jim and Tom Valley of Sacramento; sister, Judy Watson of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren James Connelly, Noe Valley, Hayes Valley, Genevieve Valley and Finn Valley; nieces and nephews Sara Valley, Nicole Valley, Anna Cullifer, Jamie Valley, Zach Watson and Heather Watson, and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Norton and grandson, Kenny Mack.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
