It's only Democracy, It won't hurt you

Re "Growth initiative a bad idea": The irony of the city claiming the General Plan will be threatened is stunning since, by allowing more development than what is called for in the city General Plan, the city has, in effect, obliterated its own General Plan by ignoring it for years.

And since when is Grass Valley so worried about creating parks and trails? Please! This is the reason the initiative was created by citizens of Grass Valley in the first place - to force the city to comply with its own General Plan and listen to the residents for a change.

Watch the way the powers that be twist this argument, because it is being very strategically twisted. The city appears to be freaking out over the removal of power from a few to actually allowing the citizens of Grass Valley to genuinely weigh in on developments and land use.

Oh my God, not democracy - we can't have democracy! Can't you hear them? The sky falling!
