Grass Valley

Police Department



Friday

8:41 p.m. - A woman called from the 100 block of West Olympia Drive to report that her neighbor had pierced a tire on her white Chrysler New Yorker with four screws. Police took a report for vandalism.

11:25 p.m. - Officers arrested a 29-year-old man on the 200 block of Dorsey Drive and booked him into Nevada County Jail for violation of probation.



Saturday

2:38 a.m. - Officers arrested a 21-year-old man at a business on the 1500 block of East Main Street and booked him into Nevada County Jail for being drunk in public.

3:48 p.m. - A woman came to the police station to report that she'd been assaulted by another woman in the kitchen of a business on the 300 block of West Main Street. Officers told the woman who made the alleged attack not to return to the business as she would face charges for trespassing.

10:12 p.m. - Officers cited and released a 40-year-old woman on West Olympia Drive for possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:31 p.m. - Officers arrested a 62-year-old man for violation of probation at Kidder Avenue and booked him into Nevada County Jail.



Sunday

1:07 a.m. - Officers cited and released a 23-year-old man for driving on a suspended license at the intersection of East Main Street and Joerschke Drive.

1:11 a.m. - Officers arrested a 23-year-old woman on Sutton Way for drunk driving and booked her into Nevada County Jail.

2:50 a.m. - Officers arrested a 59-year-old man at the intersection of West Empire Street and Whiting Street for drunk driving and violation probation and booked him into Nevada County Jail.

9:44 a.m. - Officers cited and released a 27-year-old man at the intersection of North Auburn Street and Richardson Street for driving on a suspended license.

Friday

8:34 a.m. - Officers arrested a 44-year-old man on the 13000 block of Ridge Road for violation of probation and booked him Nevada County jail.

9:12 a.m. Officers arrested a man on the 10000 block of Combie Road on the suspicion of being drunk in public and booked him into Nevada County Jail.

6:12 p.m. - A man called from the 16000 block of Oscar Drive saying he thought someone had been inside his residence and canceled his vacation booked online. Nothing else in the residence had been disturbed, he said.



Saturday

10:46 a.m. - A woman called from Rollins Lake reporting that her husband and her father-in-law were stranded on the lake in a boat.

11:29 a.m. - A woman called from the 11000 block of Willow Valley Road reporting someone had smashed her mailbox the night before. Several other mailboxes on the road had also been damaged, she said.



Grass Valley

Fire Department



Report for the period of April 30 to May 6. The Fire Department responded to 71 calls for service during this period. The following is a small sample of those calls.



April 30, 5:36 a.m. - Firefighters responded to a vege tation fire at North Star Mine. The first engine to arrive on the scene reported a one-acre brush and logging slash fire with no exposures threatened. Firefighters quickly contained the fire.

May 4, 4:54 p.m. - Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire possibly caused by lightning on LaBarr Meadows Road. At the scene, fire crews reported a fire that was spreading slowly and with no exposures threatened. Firefighters quickly contained the fire.

May 6, 7:12 p.m. - Firefighters responded to a motorcycle accident on Butler Street. At the scene, they found a person on the road with significant leg injuries. The person was taken to a nearby trauma center via air ambulance.
