Nicole LeAnn Adams of Grass Valley has been elected an executive officer of the Beta Mu Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.
Adams is majoring in nursing at Sierra College and plans to transfer to California State University in Sacramento.
Phi Theta Kappa membership is based on academic achievement. Members are provided opportunities for growth and development in scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship.
Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, based in Jackson, Miss., is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1.7 million members and 1,100 chapters in the United States, Canada and Germany. About100,000 students are inducted annually.
The Computer Learning Center at the Nevada County Fairgrounds is offering classes in June and July.
Classes will teach basic computer skills, such as how to operate a mouse, as well as more advanced courses on digital photography and Word processing.
Each class will have one instructor and up to three coaches helping students. Only eight students are admitted per class.

Trinity Life Bible College is registering students for the summer 2008 quarter starting May 17. A special registration rally will take place that day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Classes are available mornings, afternoons and evenings. Those who qualify can get financial aid.
There's no cost or obligation to visit a class. Courses can be taken for personal enrichment or for degree completion.
