Heat wave flames fire season

Print Comment
A heat wave expected Wednesday will boost western Nevada County fire conditions already deemed mid-summer dangerous.

The National Weather Service this morning said an unusual high pressure system will bring temperature in the 80s and 90s Wednesday through Sunday.

Wind gusts up to 20 mph on Wednesday will only add to what is shaping up to be a long and arduous fire season in Northern California.

Area residents are urged to be careful when burning brush, which now requires a burn permit, obtainable at any area fire station.
