Would you like to help mentally or physically disadvantaged children and adults ride horses? Saddle Pals Therapeutic Center in Grass Valley can teach you how to do so.
Saddle Pals, a non-profit affiliated to the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Sacramento, is looking for volunteers for its therapeutic riding program for people with special needs.
An orientation session for volunteers will take place May 19 at the Blue Mountain Farm in Grass Valley.
Saddle Pals will train volunteers without experience in horsemanship.
Volunteers typically attend riders while they receive riding lessons. They help riders follow instructions, offer them encouragement and even assist them in playing games on horseback.
