Grant Fujii, a resident of Auburn, remained in a critical condition Sunday afternoon after sustaining heavy injuries in a single vehicle accident on Highway 20 in Nevada City Saturday.
Fujii, 23, was driving his 1991 Toyota pickup eastbound on Highway 20 early Saturday morning when he drove off the road near Sacramento Street, a statement released by California Highway Patrol said. His car went up a 30-foot embankment, rolled over and came to rest on its roof across the freeway, the statement added.
Fujii was trapped inside with his seatbelt fastened and sustained major injuries, the news release said. He was extricated and taken to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center via air ambulance.
