Nevada City council to meet again on city manager’s job

Print Comment
The Nevada City council will meet in a second closed session to continue reviewing applications for the city manager’s position, Mayor Sally Harris said this morning.

Harris said City Council members spent about 90 minutes on Wednesday night studying the approximately 40 applications for the top position in city government.

“We do have some qualified candidates,” Harris said.

Previously, the mayor said the council was looking for candidates who have experience as either a city manager or assistant city manager.

Harris said the council will meet in closed session either before or at the end of Wednesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.

The city is looking for a replacement for Mark Miller, who resigned earlier this year to take a job with Nevada County. The starting pay for the position is advertised as between $85,000 and $95,000 a year.
