Gold Country Calvary Chapel

Gold Country Calvary Chapel, 13026 La Barr Meadows Road, will be hosting paleontology expert, Dr. Mace Baker, who will be speaking on the topics of "Dinosaurs of Creation," Sunday, May 11, 9:30 a.m., and "Science and Textbook Evolution: Mechanisms of Evolution," Monday, May 12, 7:30 p.m., followed by time for questions and answers.

Dr. Baker earned his Ph.D. from Pacific International University. He has conducted seminars in 13 different countries around the world. He has participated in excavations in Texas, and has conducted field research on dinosaur track sites in Utah.

First Baptist Church of Nevada City

This Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m., Anna Campbell will perform in concert at the First Baptist Church of Nevada City, 300 Main Street. Admission is free. Anna, a resident of Grass Valley, has performed throughout the county. Anna is an accomplished singer and song writer. She has been singing since the age of 5 and began composing at the age of 11. A free-will offering will be taken and Anna's CD will be available for purchase.



Sierra Center for Positive Living

Healing Rooms of Nevada County

The Healing Rooms of Nevada County are open. We pray for the healing for the body, soul and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. We meet in the Chapel at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday. The chapel is located in the main lobby of the hospital. There is no fee and no reservation is necessary.

Pray Nevada County

Pray Nevada County, seeking God on behalf of our communities, is open to all Christians. Pray Nevada County meets Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses, media, churches and para church ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities.

Aglow

Grass Valley's next meeting is Thursday, May 8, at 9:45 a.m. Barbara Stroup of Christian Life Center

will be the featured speaker. Praise and worship will be provided by Reverends George and Lillie Parker, LionSong Ministries. Aglow is a nondenominational Christian organization and all women are invited.

Emmanuel Episcopal Church

Emmanuel Episcopal Church will celebrate the Feast of the Pentecost this Sunday. At the 10 a.m. Eucharist there will be a bagpiper and red balloons. Truth Worship Center

Mothers will be honored this Sunday at Truth Worship Center which is located across from the Nevada Union High School. Each Mother attending will receive a special Mother's Day gift. We will be looking at the Biblical view of a godly mother.

Unity in the Gold Country
