Mark Twain (aka Samuel Clemens) was not only known for his literature, he was also a popular speaker and lecturer.
A one-man show, he buguiled his audiences on every subject from A to Z with great humor and satire.
Friday and Saturday veteran actor Chris LeGate, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the real Mr. Twain, will recreate such a show - this one on the women in his life - at the Stonehouse Restaurant in Nevada City.
He's been performing this role for 14 years, and people love it.
The Stonehouse will serve a four-course dinner from a special Twain 1879 bill of fare.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the event in top hat and period evening dress.
Ragged But Right provides pre-show early American music, and following the performance Mr. Twain will continue the evening chatting with guests in the bar.
By the way, what's with the white suit? Mr. Twain says he will answer that question.
Might this be an event your mother will enjoy on this Mother's Day weekend?
