Kristen and Stan Atkinson
Atkinson article on newstands
Former Sacramento news anchorman and globetrotting reporter Stan Atkinson was in Nevada City a few weeks back to research a travel article for Senior magazine.
The May issue is now available for free at many locations in the area, including grocery stores and the Nevada City Post Office. Look for the racks where you shop.
Stan's column is called "The Timely Traveler," and his article is titled, "Nevada City, A gold mine of activities." He includes photos of Marci and Anita Wald-Tuttle, of Tanglewood Forest; and other merchants and street scenes.
The article also mentions activities over the course of the year, such as Summer Nights and Victorian Christmas.
When he was here in March, Stan talked about wanting to write an article directed toward people who may have been in town many years ago, but haven't visited lately. The magazine has an estimated readership of close to 200,000, so keep a welcoming eye out for visitors who may be saying, "Boy, I remember when..."
