ELMER TEFFETELLER

Elmer Jay Teffeteller died April 30 at his home in Rough and Ready. He was 76.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 9, at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Grass Valley. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Mr. Teffeteller was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Maryville, Tenn., to George Washington Teffeteller and Neppie Lillian Russell. He married Mary Ann Khougaz on April 14, 1953, in Santa Monica.
Mr. Teffeteller worked as a mechanic for McDonald Douglas and later opened Newberry Park Automotive. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, woodworking and working in his barn, riding on his tractor, and watching his grandchildren.
Mr. Teffeteller is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Teffeteller of Rough and Ready; daughter, Julianne Naylor of Grass Valley; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jeanie Alvey of Rough and Ready; sisters Marie Eggers and Dorothy Teffeteller of Maryville, Tenn.; brother, Henry Teffeteller of Maryville, Tenn.; and grandsons Alexander and Christopher Naylor of Grass Valley and Daniel Alvey of Rough and Ready, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Neppie Teffeteller, and brothers Earl and Jimmy Teffeteller.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
