DONALD ELLIS

Donald C. Ellis died April 30 at his home in Grass Valley. He was 75.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City. The Rev. Anne Nielsen will officiate. Burial will take place at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Mr. Ellis was born Sept. 30, 1932, in San Francisco to James Charles Ellis and Vivian Lewis. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1949 to 1952. He married Wilma Caswell on March 17, 1952, in Santa Clara.

Mr. Ellis retired from General Motors in Fremont in 1988. He loved his family and liked to go gambling.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Wilma Ellis of Grass Valley; daughters- and sons-in-law Terri and Mike Zimmerman of Penn Valley and Susan and George Chavez of Austin, Texas; granddaughter and husband, Jennifer and Shawn of Penn Valley; grandson, Charles of Austin, Texas, and great-grandchildren Sydney and Dylan of Penn Valley.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
