Open House at Chicago Park

School

Chicago Park School is hosting its annual spring open house May 15 for parents of current and prospective students.

The event includes a barbecue at 5:15 p.m. sponsored by the Chicago Park/Peardale Fire Department, Superintendent-Principal Dan Zeisler said.

At 6 p.m., Zeisler will make a presentation about the 2008-09 school year. Classrooms will be open from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Chicago Park School is a kindergarten through eighth grade school with 163 students, Zeisler said. It's located on 15725 Mt. Olive Road, just east of Grass Valley.



Ranch hosts Earth Day

Festival

Loma Rica Ranch will hold a free Earth Day Festival at Lake MacBoyle with music, vendors, activities and food from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

An organic plant and vegetable sale will follow on Monday through May 10 at the farm at 10980 Brunswick Road. Vegetable starts for sale include tomatoes, summer squash, herbs and flowers.
