Grass Valley Police Department


Monday

9:06 a.m. - Police arrested four people on East Main Street. A 19-year-old man was arrested on a grand theft warrant, a 48-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of violating probation, a juvenile was booked into juvenile hall, and a 46-year-old Reno woman was arrested on a warrant for possessing drug paraphernalia.



1:13 p.m. - A caller from a business on the 700 block of Taylorville Road reported a fence had been cut over the weekend. Police took a report for vandalism.



1:48 p.m. - A caller reported a person was lying in the dirt by a fence at Veterans Memorial Park. Police checked on the person, who was just enjoying the sun.



3:58 p.m. - A woman from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported her Ford Escort was broken into the previous night. The change in her ashtray had been stolen.



6:34 p.m. - A woman from the 100 block of East Empire Street reported her 21-year-old son was in a fight at her house on Friday, and she wanted a restraining order. Police advised the woman on the process of getting a restraining order.



11:34 p.m. - A caller reported a man wrapped in a blanket was walking very slowly on Kate Hayes Street. The caller thought police should check on him. Police contacted the 19-year-old man, who was fine and was not drunk. He had walked to the store and he was cold, so he used a blanket.



11:46 p.m. - Police stopped a vehicle on the 100 block of Neal Street and arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving.



Tuesday

1:54 a.m. - A 49-year-old woman at the police station lobby reported running out of gas on the freeway. She requested a ride back to the vehicle, which police provided.



3:27 a.m. - A caller from East Main Street at Dorsey Drive reported a hot dog sign was in the roadway. Police found the sign and brought it back to the restaurant where it belonged.



Nevada County Sheriff's Office



Monday

9:24 a.m. - A caller from a school on the 11000 block of Highway 174 reported vandalism to the ball field sometime over the weekend.



12:45 p.m. - A caller from the 15000 block of Greenhorn Road reported a person was refusing to leave a property. The person eventually left, leaving behind a locked motorhome with many cats on the property. Animal Control removed six cats and would remove the remaining three to four cats on Tuesday.



2:54 p.m. - A man called from the 12000 block of Creek View Drive to report someone stole a pair of vice grips from his tool shed while he was in jail during the month of March.



8:10 p.m. - A caller from the 11000 block of Marjon Drive reported a man came and out of the bushes and was hitchhiking. The caller said the man "doesn't fit the look of the neighborhood." A deputy took a report.



8:30 p.m. - A caller from the 16000 block of Meyer Lane reported a man possibly was trying to burglarize a residence for sale across the street. The man fled on foot. Police were looking for the man, and a deputy took a report for burglary.



Tuesday

3:38 p.m. - A caller from the 15000 block of Monte Vista Drive reported multiple fireworks going off near her residence. An officer admonished the people with the fireworks and told them to destroy the remaining fireworks.

Monday

6:38 p.m. - A caller from the 700 block of Hoover Lane reported a man with no shirt and dreadlocks was walking and jumped over a fence. The caller said the man "looked out of place." Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate the man.



Fire Calls



Monday

4:40 p.m. - A caller from Hughes Road at Lidster Avenue reported a transformer may have exploded. The fire department was notified.
