Teen named Artist of the Month at winery

Her name is Roxy Ford. She's an accomplished teen artist who found her groove through The Friendship Club. There she connected with well-known Nevada City painter Margie Miller in the club's mentor program. Formal art instruction combined with Ford's natural talent has resulted in the teen's success. Now she is Artist of the Month at Nevada City Winery, where a reception for her will be held tonight, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at 321 Spring St. Cost is $25, all of which benefits The Friendship Club's mentoring programs (find out more at www.friendshipclub.org).
