10:30 a.m. - A caller from a school on South Auburn Street reported the theft of andy.
3:41 p.m. Ð A caller reported a vehicle was going the wrong way on Highway 49 between Gold Flat Road and Grass valley City limits. A CHP officer stopped the vehicle and everything was fine.
3:53 p.m. Ð A woman called to report her door had been "jimmied," and she has been receiving threats from her nephew. She thought someone was trying to get her medication, which she takes because she is a burn victim.
9:08 p.m. - A caller reported a man was behind a building on the 400 block of Henderson Street, possibly stealing things. Police contacted a 57-year-old man who was rummaging through the trash. Police told the man to leave.
9:10 p.m. - A man called to report his ex-boss threatened him. The man said he went to his old job on the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway to retrieve his knives, and his ex-boss spit on him.
9:22 p.m. - A caller from a gas station on the 100 block of South Auburn Street reported a drunken man was refused service, and he was causing a disturbance. Police arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving, violation of probation, driving with a suspended license and a warrant. The man's passenger, a 48-year-old woman, was extremely drunk and was given a taxi ride home. The man's black Nissan Sentra was towed.

12:33 a.m. - A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported that a drunken man in a black coat and blue jeans fell. Police cited the 47-year-old man on suspicion of public drunkenness.
10:49 a.m. - A caller from Ridge Road at Ventana Sierra Drive reported the rims and tires on a black Ford F150 were stolen. Police took a report.
11:56 a.m. - A caller reported two juvenile males were walking through an empty lot at Leduc Street and Whiting Street. One was carrying a bat, and the other was carrying a saw.
12:08 p.m. - A caller from a business on the 600 block of East Main Street reported two men were stealing car parts. Police cited a juvenile on suspicion of petty theft and released him to his mother.
6:05 p.m. - Police stopped a vehicle on the 1000 block of Segesworth Way and cited a 23-year-old man on suspicion of violation of a restraining order and violation of probation.
8:38 p.m. - A man in the police station lobby reported he and an employee chased a man who stole items from a store on Brunswick Road. A woman with a scar on her cheek appeared to be waiting for the man in a dark-colored Ford F150 truck. The back window of the truck had a large white and green operator's engineer sticker.
9:58 p.m. - An emergency room nurse reported she was assaulted by males as she got off work on Catherine Lane. Police took a report for assault. No arrests were made.

11:12 p.m. - Police arrested a 23-year-old man on Joerschke Drive at East Main Street on suspicion of public drunkenness.
11:19 p.m. - A man called from the 300 block of Bennett Street to report he needed to be taken to jail because he was violating the terms of his probation by drinking alcohol. Police arrested the 35-year-old man on suspicion of violation of probation.

10:11 a.m. Ð A woman called from the 200 block of Rockwood Drive to report hearing an explosion that sounded as if it had come from her backyard. Police responded and determined the sound was possibly construction on Hughes Road.

9:36 a.m. - A deputy took a report for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana at a school on the 11000 block of Magnolia Road.
1:51 p.m. Ð A man called from the 11000 block of Honey Mushroom Lane to report a person shot at him today. He said he would purchase a gun, then he hung up the phone. A man called to report the first caller threw a rock at his vehicle. None of the callers wanted contact from law enforcement.
3:54 p.m. - Officers arrested a juvenile on the 10000 block of Alta Sierra Drive on suspicion of possession of stolen property and violation of probation.
6:24 p.m. Ð A caller from the 15000 block of Tippy Way reported two men in a red and silver lifted truck hit a mailbox with a baseball bat.
8:53 p.m. - A man called from the 12000 block of Honey Mushroom Lane and reported someone shot at him. A deputy contacted the caller.
10:14 p.m. - Placer County authorities alerted law enforcement to be on the lookout for a man in a rented red Ford Mustang, possibly on his way to Reno. The man was an armed parolee on meth, and his female passenger had just obtained a restraining order against him. The man threatened to kill the woman if police tried to stop the vehicle.

12:30 a.m. Ð Deputies stopped a vehicle on the 12000 block of Robinson Road and arrested a person on suspicion of drunken driving.
2:46 p.m. - A man called from the 12000 block of Honey Mushroom Lane to report a man was shooting at him while the caller left in his car. A deputy contacted the man and determined the report was unfounded. The vehicle was not damaged, and the caller said he did not see anything but he thought he heard gunshots. The man called back two hours later to report there was a crack in his windshield.
6:59 p.m. - A caller from the 19000 block of Lake Forest Drive reported a man cut his fingers with a saw. An ambulance responded.

8:06 a.m. Ð A caller from a school on the 400 block of Searls Avenue reported daffodils were vandalized.
9:39 a.m. - A caller from a school on the 700 block of Hoover Lane reported a juvenile was trying to sell drugs. A deputy took a report for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana by a minor on school grounds.
1:31 p.m. - A caller reported a death threat made by an inmate at Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. The inmate allegedly passed on the message, "I got a .45 (caliber) waiting for him when I get out." The alleged victim did not want prosecution, only documentation. The alleged threat took place at jail visitation. The suspect's probation officer was notified.

9:26 a.m. - A caller from the 500 block of North Pine Street reported that two dogs were loose in the neighborhood, and that they had just attacked a smaller dog. The small dog appeared to be seriously injured. A second caller said that he had the dogs, and that he was in front of city hall.
Fire Calls
The Grass Valley Fire Department responded to 67 calls for service between March 5 and March 11, including ones related to its joint operational relationship with Nevada County Consolidated Fire District and Nevada City Fire Department. The following is a small sampling of those calls:
7:20 p.m. March 6 - GVFD, NCCFD and the Penn Valley Fire Protection District responded to a reported large commercial vehicle fire at the transfer station on McCourtney Road. The first arriving unit reported a 43-foot trailer fully involved with fire, and the unit initiated fire attack. Secondary hose lines were then deployed to protect additional equipment threatened by the blaze. The fire was knocked down within minutes. Firefighters remained at the scene for about three hours, overhauling hot spots in the trailer's load of smoldering waste.
10 p.m. March 6 - GVFD responded to a medical call for a fall from a second-story window near Sutton Way. An air ambulance was also dispatched. At the scene, firefighters assessed the patient and determined she had suffered significant back and upper extremities injuries. Emergency personnel packaged the patient for transport. The patient was then airlifted to a nearby trauma center.
10:50 p.m. March 6 - GVFD responded to a medical call for possible alcohol poisoning near North Church Street. Emergency personnel confirmed that a significant volume of alcohol had been consumed, causing medical complications. The patient was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
5:50 a.m. March 8 - GVFD, NCCFD, NCFD, Penn Valley, and the Ophir Hill Fire Protection District responded to a two-alarm residential structure fire on West Main Street. The heavily involved second-floor fire was controlled and then extinguished. Firefighters remained at the scene for about five hours, mopping up hot spots.
