Film makers get a chance to compete in film festival

Print Comment
Nevada County filmmakers are invited to submit their films to a competition for a cash prize and inclusion in the 8th Annual Nevada City Film Festival (NCFF) this August. Submission is free and easy. See instructions in the box with this story.

In more than a handful of years, this film festival has grown to become one of the most favored stops on the independent film festival circuit, says local filmmaker Jason Graham, who along with David Nicholson and Magic Theatre owner Jeff Clark, got it going in 2001.

"It's a forum of exchange and interaction between local filmmakers and the national and international independent film community," says Graham.

NCFF will select certain films submitted in this competition to be shown in a special program during the August festival.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR FILM

1. Filmmakers can either upload their films to YouTube and e-mail the link to filmcontest@nevadacity

filmfestival.com or e-mail directly through the same address if help is needed; or call Jason Graham directly at (530) 265-2681.

2. All of the films will be posted on www.theunion.com/filmcontest by June 15.

3. Viewers may go to www.theunion.com/filmcontest to vote between April 15 and July 15.

4. The winner will be announced on opening onNight of the Nevada City Film Festival, Aug. 14.
