British are coming for Gibson

Canine celebrity Gibson will strut his large stuff on St. Patrick's Day in downtown Grass Valley for a British film about the World's Tallest Dog.
Locals are invited to come and watch.
"They're coming from London," Gibson mom Sandy Hall said Friday from her Nevada County home. "It's a movie-documentary, and it should be one hour in length" when complete.
There will be no formal casting call for extras, Hall said. But locals are invited to come downtown for possible inclusion in various shots with the dog, certified tallest by the Guinness Book of World Records.
"They're quite interested in kids' reaction to Gibson," Hall said. "We're inviting people to watch and maybe become part of the movie."
A crew from Firefly Film and Television Production is expected to set up at the Holbrooke Hotel late on the afternoon of March 16, Hall said.
They will begin shooting there about 9 a.m. the morning of March 17 and then move across the street to the Bret Harte Retirement Inn.
Gibson was filmed interacting with residents at the Bret Harte in 2006 for a Japanese television show.
He has also appeared on "The Tonight Show," "The Oprah Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
The harlequin great Dane stands almost 43 inches at the shoulder and is more than 7 feet tall when he stands on his hind legs.
After the retirement inn, Hall and Gibson will take a stroll through downtown Grass Valley for the film crews. That is where people could find themselves being filmed.
The celebrity pooch has been busy lately and just got back from being inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Hall said.
"He got his feet wet in the cement," she said.
Gibson also has a new book, Hall said.
"It's called 'Gibson Speaks,'" Hall said. "It's a children's book about his adventures."
The book is available at area book stores and at Muttley's Pet Emporium at 627 East Main Street in Grass Valley.
