10:38 a.m. - A woman called from a business on the 100 block of South Auburn Street to report people were harassing her and trying to walk out without paying for a meal. Police arrived, and the people paid and left.
1:33 p.m. - Police cited a man behind a public building on Mill Street on suspicion of having an open container of alcohol.
3:09 p.m. - Police arrested a 62-year-old woman on Tinloy Lane and Bank Street on suspicion of drunken driving.
3:44 p.m. - A caller from the 200 block of South Auburn Street reported a cell phone and a credit card were stolen from a vehicle. Police took a report.
4:16 p.m. - A caller from a business on the 100 block of Neal Street reported a woman stole a dryer and a desk.
7:14 p.m. - A caller from a state government building on Sutton Way reported someone was trying to get in the back door. A large man wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt was pushing buttons and shaking the door. The caller saw the man holding something silver. The caller was hiding in the men's bathroom. Police arrived and were unable to locate any possible intruder.
10:38 p.m. - Police arrested a 59-year-old man on Packard Drive and Brighton Street on suspicion of drunken driving.
11 p.m. - A caller from the 1000 block of Segesworth Way reported four teens were in a playground. Police were unable to locate the teens.
Tuesday
12:04 a.m. - A man called from North Church Street to report hearing a lot of gunfire in the area. A dispatcher reminded the man it was midnight, and he said he forgot it was New Year's. Patrol officers were advised of the gunfire.
12:13 a.m. - A caller from the 100 block of Pleasant Street reported fireworks were being shot off in the area. Police were unable to locate fireworks.
1:48 a.m. - Police stopped a vehicle in a store parking lot on Neal Street and arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving and violation of probation. Police also arrested a 19-year-old man for a local warrant. Their car was towed.
2:15 a.m. Š Police arrested a 45-year-old man on Neal Street on suspicion of public drunkenness.
9:41 a.m. - A caller from an uninhabited building on the 100 block of Idaho Maryland Road reported bay doors had been pried open. Police were unable to locate the responsible party.
Between Noon and 5:30 p.m., Grass Valley police attempted to serve seven local arrest warrants. Of those seven attempts, police arrested four people for local warrants.
9:05 p.m. - A caller reported hearing two gunshots in the Rockwood area. A second caller said the shots sounded like they were from a high-powered rifle. Police checked the area and were unable to locate anything suspicious.
8:19 p.m. - A driver who had been previously stopped by an officer returned to the officer and had "more words" for him. The driver left again.

2:56 a.m. - A woman called from a business on the 400 block of Colfax Avenue to report a man wanted to talk to her. The man told police he lives in the neighborhood and the woman always calls police on him. Police contacted both parties.

11:09 a.m. - A caller from the 13000 block of Newtown Road reported a physical fight between a man and a woman. There were possibly two children in the home. The caller said the woman was trying to take something and the fight was possibly drug-related. The caller said there were no injuries, but the woman was restraining the man. Police arrested a person on suspicion of possession of a pipe, possession of a syringe and possession of a controlled substance.
1:32 p.m. - A man called from the 10000 block of Conifer Lane to report a person was threatening the caller with a bat. Deputies contacted the caller and no arrests were made.
2:16 p.m. - A caller from Covey Court reported two men in a white truck with a bucket were taking down a cable. The truck was not marked. A deputy confirmed the men were installing cable Internet in the area.
2:55 p.m. - A caller from the 13000 block of Red Dog Road reported a physical fight. A woman said she did not need medical attention but her arm hurt from being held. While officers were at the location, the man tried to have more contact with the woman. A deputy arrested the man on suspicion of domestic battery.
5:21 p.m. - A man called from Patterson Mine Road to report his neighbor called him and threatened to kill him, then cut his phone line. The caller said he attempted to fix the phone line, and the neighbor started yelling and making threats again. The neighbor also threatened to kill some women. A deputy contacted the caller and no arrests were made.
7:22 p.m. - A caller reported hearing four gunshots in the area of Red Dog Road and Pasquale Road. All was quiet when deputies arrived.

7:27 a.m. - A woman called from the 11000 block of Lower Circle Drive to report vandalism to mailboxes. A dispatcher advised the woman of an extended wait time for officer contact. Three hours later, an officer took a report for vandalism.

5:42 p.m. - A caller who lives on Big Blue Road by a gun club reported hearing 20 shots so far. The caller did not want to be disturbed. A deputy was advised.
7:07 p.m. - A caller from the 11000 block of Lincoln Way reported a physical fight. The caller said a woman threw a vase at a man, and she was in a bedroom with her children. A deputy took a report for mutual assault between family members. No arrest was made.
