The story of the Nutcracker has been a popular part of Christmas tradition since the early 1800s. The ballet is performed in large and small cities around the world.

While Tchaikovsky wrote the ballet, Bon Marie Munier, of Echappe Dance Art Theatre, brought the ballet to Nevada County again this year. Four showings entertained a full house, and inspired future "Claras" at the Don Bagget Theatre, as our community turned out to support this production that features dancers of all ages and skill levels from the entire local dance community.

Costuming, sets, choreography - none of it is an easy feat, and all of it demands time. Bon Marie and her awesome helpers, Santia Enos especially, are helping to make this production another incredible Nevada County tradition.

How fortunate we are to have Bon Marie share her Christmas magic.
