Police blotter 12/3/07



Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

• 9:50 a.m. - A caller from a store on the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported two men with long black jackets shoplifted. They allegedly took a fifth of Jack Daniels. One man pulled the item from his coat outside of the store. One of the men was the brother of an employee.

• 10:19 a.m. - A caller from Wendy Circle reported a man with a baseball bat was threatening an employee. Police advised a man to refrain from making physical threats and from going onto the Wendy Circle property, otherwise he would be arrested for trespassing.

• 2:17 p.m. - A caller from a business on the 1000 block of Plaza Drive reported a person used a fake $20 bill. Footage of the person on a security camera was available to police. Police would follow up.

• 2:50 p.m. - A caller from Morgan Ranch requested extra police patrol for speeders during the high school lunch hour. The traffic officer was advised.

• 3:13 p.m. - A woman in the police station lobby reported someone broke into her car on the 500 block of Penstock Drive and stole CDs. Police took a report.

• 5:53 p.m. - A caller from the 500 block of Whiting Street reported two men in a white Jeep Cherokee were asking people if they wanted to buy drugs. Police contacted a person, but it was unknown if the person was involved in the alleged solicitation.

• 10:15 p.m. - A woman called from the 300 block of North School Street to report her ex-husband was in her driveway in a van. He was non-responsive. Police arrested the 54-year-old man on suspicion of public drunkenness.

• 10:19 p.m. - A caller from the 100 block of Doris Drive reported an SUV was stuck in a culvert. A tow truck was called.



Saturday

• 12:02 a.m. -Police were checking bars and arrested a 27-year-old man in suspicion of public drunkenness and resisting a police officer. Police also arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of public drunkenness and violation of probation.

• 12:51 a.m. - Police arrested a 57-year-old man on Hughes Road at Cypress Court on suspicion of drunken driving.

• 1:12 p.m. - A man called from the 1000 block of Pampas Drive to report his wife was driving his Ford Escape and he wanted to report it stolen. He also wanted an emergency restraining order. Police determined the man did not qualify for an emergency restraining order and the dispute over the vehicle was not a criminal issue. Police advised the man to contact the court regarding the vehicle.

• 6:12 p.m. - A caller reported a hit-and-run accident on the highway overpass at Empire Street. There were no injuries. An older silver SUV fled the accident. Police took a report for a hit-and-run.

• 6:41 p.m. - A caller from a store on the 700 block of Taylorville Road reported a tall man was talking loudly on his cell phone, walking around the store and making inappropriate comments regarding sexual activity. Police told the 48-year-old man to leave and he did.



Sunday

• 12:44 a.m. - Police stopped a vehicle at the highway offramp at Empire Street and arrested a 24-year-old woman on suspicion of drunken driving. Police had the woman's gray 2005 Honda Civic towed. Correctional officers at the jail had to force her submit to a blood-draw for a blood test.

• 2 a.m. - A man called from the 300 block of Sutton Way to report he was at a bar in Nevada City and he believed something may have been put in his drink because he was feeling "extremely ill and weird." Dispatchers called paramedics and notified the sheriff's office.

Friday

• 9:21 a.m. - A woman called from the 15000 block of Mount Olive Road to report receiving a call from someone requesting donations for servicemen in Iraq. When she asked for more information, the person hung up.

• 10:32 a.m. - A caller from the 11000 block of Torrey Pines Drive reported a juvenile boy ran away. He allegedly hitchhiked to his parents' vacation home in El Dorado County and vandalized it. He also may have a large amount of prescription drugs with him. A deputy took a report for a missing person.

• 10:46 a.m. - A man called from the 18000 block of Foxtail Drive to report his girlfriend hit him several times, but he did not want a deputy to contact him. The man called back 10 minutes later to report the girlfriend ripped all the wires out of his Ford Explorer. A deputy took a report for vandalism.

• 1:36 p.m. - A deputy took a report for assault and vandalism at a school on the 24000 block of Highway 49.

• 2:46 p.m. - Deputies cited a juvenile at a school on the 11000 block of Ridge Road on suspicion of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• 4:31 p.m. - A woman called from the 10000 block of King Way to report a fight between her grandmother and her 12-year-old son. The grandmother allegedly swung a guitar at the juvenile, then both the grandmother and the juvenile started throwing forks. A deputy mediated the situation.

• 9:39 p.m. - A woman called from the 13000 block of Thistle Loop to report her juvenile daughter was in a fight with a juvenile male at a church in Penn Valley. A deputy took a report for assault.



Saturday

• 12:36 a.m. - A man called from the 17000 block of Tyler Foote Crossing Road to report a homeless man wandered into his residence and he appeared to be confused. A deputy cited the man and released him.

• 11:17 a.m. - A caller from the 18000 block of North Cherry Creek Road reported a tenant found a cigarette butt on the kitchen floor several days ago, but the tenant doesn't smoke. The tenant had lost keys to the home a couple of weeks ago. The landlord would change the locks on the residence.

• 4:41 p.m. - A caller from the 10000 block of Pittsburg Road reported a teen boy was exposing himself to passing cars. Deputies turned the 13-year-old boy over to his grandfather and they would contact the boy's probation officer. The victim did not want to press charges, but requested deputies strongly admonish the boy.

• 8:43 p.m. - A man called from the 10000 block of Pleasant Valley Road to report a truck pulled into his driveway and the occupants shot several paintballs at his house. The caller did not want deputies to contact him.

• 8:53 p.m. - A caller from the 23000 block of Pleasant Valley Road reported people in a truck fired multiple paintballs at the residence. Another caller from the same block reported her home was also hit by several paintballs. The homes were not damaged, and the callers requested extra police patrol.



Sunday

• 12:49 a.m. - A caller from a school on the 22000 block of Kingston Lane reported fresh graffiti and smashed pumpkins.

• 4:32 p.m. - A caller reported a pane of glass shattered in the roadway on McCourtney Road at Caroline Way. Officers would respond.

• 4:43 p.m. - Police took a report for a hit-and-run accident on the 700 block of Old Washington Street.



Sunday

• 9:38 a.m. - A caller from a business on the 700 block of Zion Street reported a pregnant woman fell. Medical personnel responded.



Fire Calls

Sunday

• A fire occurred at a residence on Zeibright Road near the Placer County line at around 10 a.m., according to a California Department of Forestry and Fire dispatcher. The dispatcher said Calfire personnel responded, and no further information was available.
