A North San Juan man is scheduled to be arraigned this morning on felony charges of manufacturing a high-concentrate THC-processed marijuana - hash known as "honey-oil."
Sheriff's deputies arrested Cliff Charpentier, 26, Tuesday after a search warrant raid at his home in North San Juan.
Investigators located 44 mature marijuana plants growing mainly outdoors at the home, Nevada County Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson said.
Charpentier had a doctor's recommendation for marijuana, she said, but he allegedly had 20 more plants than the recommendation allowed.
Investigators also located evidence that Charpentier processed marijuana into a highly concentrated level of THC similar to hashish, known on the street as "honey oil," Ferguson said.
Honey oil hash can be extracted from cannabis with butane gas, according to Wikipedia.org, and it is considerably more potent than cannabis itself.
Charpentier also faces charges of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. today in Nevada County Superior Court.
