Corey Creasy, formerly of Nevada City, directing a take.
Corey Creasey, who once lived in Nevada City and now works in film and video in Berkeley, says he has been making films for 10 years. His latest, "Children are a Gift," a five-minute comedy about kids needing help with the darnedest things, will be screened Aug. 17 as part of the Shorts Program 1 at the film festival.
Creasey says it took two days of filming and cost $600 to make, a bargain in today's expensive world.

Saying that many of his ideas for films still come from "the community I grew up in," he is happy to be returning for the festival, "a great show I'm proud of."
He will answer questions after the program, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at Miners Foundry, 325 Spring St., Nevada City.
