Two people accused of kidnapping a San Mateo County man at gunpoint and robbing an elderly Oregon couple are in jail without bail after being arrested at a Nevada County campground.
Officers arrested Joshua Burgoyne, 24, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; Camillia Forness, 20, of Hillsborough, Ore.; and their passenger Kathryn Moore, 20, of Sparks, Nev., on Sunday night in the Truckee area after campers reported them begging to pay for their camping fees, Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal said Monday.

They were short $6 for their fee at the Boyington Mill Campground at Boca Reservoir, so they began asking other campers for money, Royal said.
"It was strange that they were in a newer-model Honda CRV and a woman in the car had two black eyes," Royal said.
A deputy responded to a call from a complaining camper, and it appeared to him that Forness was backing the vehicle into some brush to hide the Maryland license plates.

The deputy checked the vehicle's history and discovered the Honda was stolen last month as part of an armed robbery and kidnapping in San Mateo County.
The victim of the kidnapping told San Mateo County authorities last month that the kidnappers used a gun to steal his car. They allegedly drove, with him as their prisoner, to the Portland, Ore., area. That's when the victim was finally able to get away, Royal said.

The alleged kidnapping victim called a family member, who picked him up and brought him back to San Mateo County.
The suspected kidnappers were said to have distinguishing features, including tattoos, that matched the descriptions of Burgoyne and Forness.
The two also were wanted for an April home invasion in Portland, and the Portland Police Department had issued warrants for their arrests.

"An 80-year-old missionary and his wife were tied up and robbed" in the home invasion case, Royal said.
After the Nevada County Sheriff's deputy discovered Sunday night the Honda was stolen, he called for backup. Officers from the Truckee Police Department and the California Highway Patrol assisted with detaining and transporting the three suspects.

All three were charged with receiving or concealing stolen property and being fugitives from justice. They all had out-of-state warrants.
Any time someone leaves the state where a warrant was issued, Royal said, the person is considered a fugitive from justice.
Borgoyne and Forness also were charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.
