Deputies arrested a parolee Friday night after allegedly finding more than nine grams of meth, most of which was hidden in the engine compartment of his friend's car.
Michael Guernsey, 33, of Grass Valley is being held without bail in Wayne Brown Correctional Facility after his arrest Friday night on Adam Avenue and Squirrel Creek Road in Grass Valley.
Deputies stopped the Acura Integra at 10:30 p.m. for having no taillights, Nevada County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Powell said Sunday.
Deputies searched the car and found 7.2 grams of packaged methamphetamine in the engine compartment. The also found two grams of meth and a scale inside the car, Powell said.
Guernsey and driver Christy Olsen, 28, were arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Guernsey was also arrested on suspicion of a parole violation.
