Voters can try new machines

Print Comment
Nevada County Clerk Kathleen Smith invites the public to participate in a side-by-side voting comparison of the Diebold Election System and Hart Intercivic Touch Screen Voting Units from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday. It will be in the conference room at the FREED Center for Independent Living, 900 East Main St, Suite 201 second floor, Grass Valley.

The Direct Recording Electronic unit touch screen provides voters with disabilities the opportunity to vote privately and independently, in compliance with the Help America Vote Act. The Selection Committee will pick a vendor and make a recommendation to Smith in the near future.
