Police blotter

Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

• At 1:45 p.m., a caller from June Drive reported a garbage truck had hooked a cable and it was down in the street. City Public Works was advised.

• At 2:24 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported a large group of loitering juveniles was gathered in a parking lot. An officer advised them to move on.

• At 2:47 p.m., a caller from Ventana Sierra Drive at Ridge Road reported a noninjury accident between a white Ford and a red Jeep.

• At 4:17 p.m., a caller from the 500 block of Crown Point Circle reported a client was agitated and came in the day before with a knife. An officer took a report.

• At 4:35 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on the 500 block of Linden Avenue. The driver had reportedly left a hospital under the influence of a drug or alcohol, and police had been looking for him. Police arrested the 78-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 6:28 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of Sutton Way reported a man in dark clothes had emerged from behind cottages and was headed toward a convalescent home. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the man. The caller requested extra patrols.

• At 8:44 p.m., a woman called from the 900 block of Laurel Avenue to report receiving a call from a man with a young voice who said, "Rob, I'm stuck in the window, can you come and help me?" The woman was not familiar with the man's voice and a return call came back as disconnected.



Wednesday

• At 12:47 a.m., a caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported a dog was barking. Police checked the area and all was quiet.

Sheriff's Office

Tuesday

• At 10:03 a.m., a man called from the 24000 block of Eucalyptus Court to reported he had found a juvenile intruder hiding in the man's closet when he returned home. The man had the juvenile trapped in the bathroom. A deputy arrested the juvenile, and he was booked into juvenile hall.

• At 1:15 p.m., a caller in custody at the Plumas County Jail reported a possible burglary to a residence on the 18000 block of Bald Hill Road. A deputy checked three buildings and took a report.

• At 2:21 p.m., a caller from the 15000 block of Brewer Road reported a fight over a dog getting hit and possibly killed.

• At 4:59 p.m., a caller from the 12000 block of Rattlesnake Road reported the theft of account information.

• At 8:19 p.m., a caller from the 10000 block of Tyler Foote Road reported guns were missing from the home. A deputy took a report for residential burglary.

Wednesday

• At 8:04 a.m., a caller from Lawton Way reported a llama was loose and appeared to injured. Animal Control was notified.



Nevada City

Police Department

Tuesday

• At 2:21 p.m., a man called from the 600 block of Long Street to report people possibly were living under his house. An officer determined no one was in the basement.

• At 3:55 p.m., a caller from the 700 block of Hoover Lane reported petty theft. A deputy took a report.

• At 4:38 p.m., law enforcement was on the lookout for a man suspected of attempted unlawful sex with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The man was known to frequent the area around the 200 block of Brock Road.



Fire Calls

Tuesday

• At 12:57 p.m., a caller from the 700 block of Butler Street in Grass Valley reported a telephone pole was on fire. The city fire department responded and discovered the base of the pole was smoldering. Firefighters stood by as Pacific Gas and Electric Co. workers responded.



Wednesday

• At 7:25 a.m., a caller from the 100 block of Crown Point Circle reported the smell of smoke in the building. The Grass Valley Fire Department responded and found a heating and air conditioning unit had gone bad and was emitting smoke.
