Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

• At 11:35 a.m., a caller from a fast food restaurant on the 1000 block of Nevada City highway reported receiving a fake $20 bill last night.

• At 2:02 p.m., a caller reported an elderly woman living at the 200 block of Buena Vista Street was not answering knocks at her door. Broken pipes had been running all morning from leaks around the house. An officer made contact.

• At 3:25 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a man was going around a parking lot looking into cars and trying to open doors.

• At 3:56 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported about 30 juveniles were hanging around a business and customers were complaining.

• At 6:25 p.m., a caller from the 1000 block of Mercury Drive reported a 15-year-old girl was missing. She was last seen at a grocery store on the 100 block of Neal Street.

• At 7:13 p.m., an alarm sounded at a business on the 200 block of Mill Street. Police discovered a window was broken and they contacted the owner.



Saturday

• At 12:17 a.m., police cited two men on East McKnight Way for illegally camping.

• At 2:06 a.m., police stopped two cars on Bennett Street near Ophir Street and arrested a 37-year-old woman for a Santa Clara warrant and driving with a suspended license. A 37-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. A passenger in one of the cars, a 44-year-old woman, was listed in a missing persons database as a missing and endangered person out of Yuba County. Police removed her name form the system.

• At 2:21 a.m., a caller from the 300 block of East Main Street reported a person was yelling and screaming and the caller was willing to sign a complaint. Police arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of public drunkenness and disturbing the peace.

• At 2:51 a.m., police chased two people at Dow Alexander Park. They caught one 36-year-old woman and arrested her on suspicion of possession of heroin and resisting and officer.

• At 10:15 a.m., a caller from the 600 block of Leduc Street reported a possible sewer back-up. Public Works was advised.

• At 11:52 a.m., a caller reported a noninjury accident on Highway 49 at Brunswick Road. Someone may have been going the wrong way on an offramp. The CHP was advised.

• At 5:50 p.m., a caller from a restaurant on the 500 block of Mill Street reported an older man who had been drinking was getting into a white Toyota Tacoma. Police contacted the 58-year-old man and arrested him on suspicion of public drunkenness and violation of probation.

• At 6:51 p.m., a caller from South Auburn Street across from a car dealership reported juveniles were putting a fake body in the roadway. Police contacted the juveniles and advised them not to put things in the roadway.

• At 9:14 p.m., police went out to a vehicle on South Auburn Street belonging to men who had been cited for illegal camping. There was a dog inside the vehicle with no food or water, and it appeared the men had been living in the vehicle. Police would follow up.

• At 9:55 p.m., a caller reported a stop sign was down on the corner of Mill Street and Neal Street. A Public Works employee put up a temporary sign.

• At 10:24 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Bank Street and arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of violation of parole and a 23-year-old man on suspicion of possession of heroin.

• At 10:32 p.m., a caller reported four or five people were kicking out the lights on parked vehicles. Police arrested a 24-year-old man for a warrant.



Sunday

• At 2:03 a.m., a burglary alarm went off at a smoke shop on the 400 block of Colfax Avenue. Police took a report for attempted burglary.

• At 2:32 a.m., police found a man in a backyard on the 100 block of Kendall Street and arrested the 23-year-old man on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.

Friday

• At 11:17 a.m., a man called from the 11000 block of North View Drive to report his residence was broken into last week. A bow and several other items were missing.

• At 12:06 p.m., a caller from Ridge Road reported a noninjury traffic accident. A silver Toyota Corolla went off the road.

• At 2:20 p.m., a caller from the 11000 block of Lowhills Road reported a dog fell through ice on a pond. The dog was removed before the fire department arrived.

• At 7:09 p.m., a woman called from a hotel on the 13000 block of Highway 49 to report her 15-year-old son threw a knife at her husband. Police counseled the juvenile.

• At 11:03 p.m., police made an arrest on Red Dog Road for drunken driving.



Saturday

• At 10:18 a.m., a caller from a restaurant on the 12000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported a burglary. Deputies took a report.

• At 1:40 p.m., a man called to report someone was inappropriately touched last week at his ex-wife's care home in Lake of the Pines by a developmentally disabled adult. A deputy took a report.

• At 4:13 p.m., a caller from Combie Road reported finding a tooth with a filling in it at the lake.



Sunday

• At 10:59 a.m., a caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported a vehicle bumper was stolen last night. A deputy took a report.

Friday

• At 4:19 p.m., a caller from Commercial Street requested extra patrol for juveniles harassing women in the area.

• At 4:35 p.m., police arrested a 50-year-old man at Calanan Park on suspicion of intimidating business operators or customers.



Saturday

• At 12:39 a.m., a caller from the 300 block of Broad Street reported a person was passed out on a dance floor. Police escorted the person outside.

• At 1:31 p.m., a caller from the 100 block of North Pine Street reported a man wearing a red stocking cap was harassing female employees. Police took a report.



Fire Calls

Friday

• At 8:11 p.m., a caller from Rockaway Road reported hearing an explosion and seeing flames. The fire was contained.
